Somebody's Child is the musical project of Dublin-based singer-songwriter Cian Godfrey, known for blending indie rock with electronic and 1980s-inspired sounds. Originally from Paris, Godfrey moved to Dublin at the age of ten and later attended music college, where he began writing and performing his own material. In 2018, Somebody's Child released their debut single, "20-Something," which was followed by the EP 20-Something in 2020.
Their self-titled debut album, Somebody's Child, was released in February 2023, featuring standout tracks like "We Could Start A War" and "Hold Me Like You Wanna," which gained significant airplay across UK radio. The band has earned recognition for their high-energy live performances, regularly selling out venues in the UK and Ireland. They've also expanded their reach internationally, performing at major events such as SXSW in Austin, Texas. Drawing influence from bands like Joy Division, The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, and Foals, Somebody's Child’s music resonates with listeners through its exploration of themes such as youth, identity, and personal growth.
