Having met as students at Leeds Polytechnic University, Marc Almond and Dave Ball first began playing as a band in the late 70's. Their electronic style would make them a defining act of the 80's and characterise the sound of the decade.
Sift Cell released four Top 20 albums between 1981-84, containing such classic hits as "Memorabilia", "Torch", "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye"; and (of course) their signature song and era-defining No.1 hit "Tainted Love!
