Soen are an international progressive metal band known for their atmospheric sound, blending elements of metal, rock and ambient music with introspective themes. Formed in 2010 by Swedish drummer Martin Lopez, formerly of Opeth, the band quickly gained attention for their dynamic compositions and polished musicianship. Their debut album Cognitive (2012) introduced their layered, melodic approach, with later releases including Tellurian (2014) and Lykaia (2017) further developing their distinctive sound.
Renowned for their powerful and immersive live performances, Soen have toured extensively across Europe and beyond, building a dedicated global following. Their later albums, including Lotus (2019), Imperial (2021) and Memorial (2023), have continued to expand their sonic range while maintaining their signature balance of heaviness and atmosphere.
