Alternative pop band known for timeless melodies, gentle songwriting and enduringly beloved songs.
Sixpence None The Richer are an American alternative pop band best known for their warm melodies, thoughtful songwriting and unmistakable vocal sound. Formed in Texas, the band centre around vocalist Leigh Nash, whose clear, emotive delivery became a defining feature of their music. Blending elements of pop, folk and alternative rock, their songs balance introspection with accessibility, often pairing gentle instrumentation with themes of love, faith and reflection.
Their breakthrough came with the self-titled album Sixpence None The Richer (1997), which featured the global hit singles “Kiss Me” and “There She Goes”, songs that became enduring staples of late-’90s and early-2000s pop culture. Further releases such as Divine Discontent (2002) expanded their sound while maintaining the melodic sensitivity that first drew listeners in. Known for their understated charm and timeless appeal, Sixpence None The Richer continue to be celebrated for music that feels both intimate and universally resonant.
