New Zealand band celebrated for their genre-defying sound, explosive live presence and wide-reaching cultural impact.
If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow SIX60 below.
Six60 are a New Zealand band whose genre-blending sound fuses rock, pop, reggae, dub, soul and electronic elements into something unmistakably Kiwi yet globally resonant. Formed in Dunedin in 2008, the lineup includes Matiu Walters (lead vocals, guitar), Ji Fraser (lead guitar), Chris Mac (bass) and Marlon Gerbes (guitar, synthesiser) — all of whom bonded at the University of Otago and named the band after the house number (660 Castle Street) where much of their early music was created.
Their self-titled debut album Six60 (2011) debuted at number one in New Zealand, with singles like “Rise Up 2.0” and “Don’t Forget Your Roots” becoming both chart-toppers and cultural touchstones. Subsequent albums — including another Six60 in 2015 and the third self-titled version in 2019 — further cemented their dominance, each debuting at No. 1 and earning multiple platinum certifications. Known for their electrifying live shows — including a sold-out 50,000-strong concert at Western Springs in 2019 — Six60 continue to innovate and lead the New Zealand music scene, earning the title of their country’s most-streamed band.
