Sekou is a British singer-songwriter from the Leicestershire town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, blessed with a rich, soulful baritone that belies his years. Raised on gospel and the great voices of soul and pop, he first turned heads with covers online before making his live debut at BBC Introducing's tent at Glastonbury in 2022 with breakout single "Better Man". His debut EP Out of Mind (2023) followed, blending classic soul with contemporary pop and marking him out as one of the UK's brightest new voices.
Recognition came quickly, with Sekou named the youngest-ever nominee for the BRITs Rising Star award and shortlisted for the BBC Sound of 2024 poll. He has since shared stages with the likes of SZA and Renée Rapp, and lent his vocals to high-profile tracks including Justin Bieber's "Too Long" from SWAG and Central Cee's "Limitless". He also performed the theme for the BBC drama This Town. Live, his warm, commanding voice and easy charm make him a genuinely special performer to catch.
