A young Sean Webster's life changed forever when a friend introduced him to the blues greats — the three Kings: Albert, BB and Freddy — along with Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and Gary Moore. But it was the legendary Eric Clapton whose playing became the primary reason Webster never put the guitar down. That obsession has since fuelled nine studio albums and a touring life spanning venues and festivals across America and Europe.
Webster's instantly recognisable voice, coupled with his heartfelt melodic guitar playing, has become the defining feature of every release. His blues-inflected guitar licks and weathered soul-shouter vocals are always passionately delivered across tightly arranged songs. Music News put it plainly: "I haven't heard anyone with a voice like Sean Webster; it's a wonder that he isn't being hailed as a Blues superstar."
Webster has never been one for following trends or bowing to blues purism. His heart is worn firmly on his sleeve — personal trials released in the form of song, creating a direct and genuine connection with his audience. A strong blues vein runs through all of his original music, done so without sacrificing a modern approach and sound.
His critically acclaimed live album Three Nights Live, recorded across three nights in March 2019 and mixed and mastered by award-winning engineer Wayne Proctor (House Of Tone), captured that live chemistry in full: a band firing on all cylinders, playing their hearts out for an audience who knew they were witnessing something truly exceptional.
His 2026 release, Light of Day — his ninth studio album — is widely regarded as some of Sean's best work. Pushing himself into entirely new territory (new song keys, new chord structures, a new approach to lyrics), he draws on personal experience, world issues and life changes to create something that reviewers have heralded as the work of an artist at the very top of his game.
