By blending the melody-driven hooks of 80s pop, the rhythmic pulse of disco, and the guitar and synth interplay of 00s rock, RETROFILE burst onto the alternative music scene in 2017 with their debut single Two Words. Recorded in twin brothers Luke and Noah Martino’s makeshift studio, the track quickly became a word-of-mouth sensation, garnering hundreds of thousands of streams and laying the foundation for a devoted following. Their debut EP Heard It All Before (2019) built on this momentum, featuring singles like “Running” and the title track, and establishing RETROFILE as a band capable of combining new wave influences with modern pop sensibilities.
The band’s creativity continued through periods of reflection and studio work, resulting in the EP Lost In Sound (2023), which further explores their dynamic blend of rhythm, melody and atmospheric textures. With live performances across the UK and Western Canada, including a showcase slot at Canadian Music Week 2023, RETROFILE has demonstrated their ability to connect with audiences both on stage and online. Their debut album Comfort In A Crowd (2025) promises to consolidate their unique sound, delivering the catchy hooks, driving rhythms and thoughtful production that have become their signature.
