Dutch indie rock outfit Personal Trainer have steadily risen from Amsterdam’s grassroots scene to international touring artists. Led by Willem Smit, the band first made their mark with their debut album Big Love Blanket (2022), showcasing a vibrant mix of DIY indie-pop energy and playful experimentation.
Their follow-up Still Willing (2024) builds on that momentum, delivering a multi-faceted collection of bright melodies, layered arrangements and introspective yet witty lyricism. The album received widespread critical acclaim, including recognition in Pitchfork’s Best Rock Albums of 2024. After several years of extensive touring, Personal Trainer briefly stepped back before returning to the studio, with new music set to arrive in 2026.
