About Pentagram

Pentagram is a pioneering American heavy metal band formed in 1971, known for their influential role in shaping the doom metal genre. Hailing from Virginia, the band built a cult following with their dark, brooding sound, combining heavy, Sabbath-inspired riffs with haunting vocals and introspective lyrics. Fronted by the charismatic and enigmatic Bobby Liebling, Pentagram’s music blends elements of traditional heavy metal with a raw, underground edge.

Although the band’s early years were marked by line-up changes and limited commercial success, Pentagram's early recordings became legendary among metal fans. Their debut album, Relentless (1985), is regarded as a cornerstone of doom metal, featuring powerful tracks like “Sign of the Wolf” and “Death Row.” Over the years, Pentagram's influence continued to grow, inspiring generations of metal bands with their heavy, slow-burning sound. Despite various setbacks and personal struggles within the band, Pentagram has remained a vital force in the metal world, celebrated for their uncompromising style and lasting impact on the genre.
