Owen is the solo project of indie-rock songwriter Mike Kinsella. Leader of American Football, Kinsella has also played Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc and Owls. Leaning into emo and math-rock, he’s noted for his complex rhythms and soft melodies which depart from his main band.
Kinsella released the debut Owen album in 2001 and has released a further nine titles including the latest LP The Avalanche (2020).
