If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow Ondara below.
Ondara is a Kenyan-born, Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter whose poetic storytelling and soulful voice have established him as one of the most distinctive modern folk artists. Born in Nairobi, he grew up listening to Bob Dylan and moved to the United States to pursue music, carrying with him a deep sense of wonder and cultural reflection. His songs blend introspective lyricism with an outsider’s perspective on the American experience, exploring themes of identity, displacement and hope with grace and vulnerability.
His debut album Tales of America (2019), nominated for a Grammy Award, introduced a strikingly original voice — spare, emotive and steeped in acoustic folk tradition. Follow-up records such as Folk n’ Roll Vol. 1: Tales of Isolation (2020) and Spanish Villager No. 3 (2022) expanded his creative range, weaving social commentary, personal narrative and imaginative storytelling into his music. With his distinctive falsetto and poetic craft, Ondara creates songs that feel timeless yet deeply rooted in the present, offering listeners a rare blend of sincerity and insight.
