nothing,nowhere. (born Joseph Edward Mulherin on in Boston, Massachusetts) is a genre-blending musician known for fusing emo rap, trap, and post-hardcore influences into his unique sound. Growing up in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Mulherin started making music as a teenager, initially covering emo songs on guitar. Before focusing on music full-time, he worked as a videographer for Ben & Jerry's, but by 2015, he adopted the stage name nothing,nowhere. and began releasing music on SoundCloud. His debut album The Nothing,Nowhere LP and subsequent EPs like Bummer and Who Are You? introduced his distinctive emo rap style.

nothing,nowhere. gained critical recognition with his 2017 album Reaper, which showcased his ability to blend guitar-driven emo and hip-hop. Over the years, he has toured with acts like Grandson, Real Friends, and Fall Out Boy, expanding his presence in the alternative scene. His 2023 release Void Eternal explored post-hardcore and nu-metal sounds, and in 2024, he became an independent artist, releasing multiple albums, including Dark Magic and Hell or Highwater, the latter being a country album. In 2025, he launched the "Will It Emo?" series and announced "The Return of the Reaper: A Decade of Darkness" tour, marking a new chapter in his music career as an independent artist.
