Nina Winder-Lind

Brighton-based Swedish songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nina Winder-Lind, best known as a member of the electrifying 'Hagstone rock' band The New Eves, today releases a solo single and video, "This Is Our Life" via Transgressive.

Blending folk-pop warmth with an upbeat, driving pulse, "This Is Our Life" showcases Winder-Lind's magnetic vocal vibrato and instinct for melody. The track balances intimacy with exuberance, capturing a sense of joy and immediacy that runs through much of her work.

Speaking about the song, Nina says:
"This is Our Life almost wrote itself. I was in my family's cabin in the north of Sweden when it happened. Equipped with an acoustic guitar, a violin and a zoom mic I went into a shed and made a quick demo. It was sparse but at the same time it was all there already. I was surprised that I seemed to have written a pop song but apparently that needed to happen.

I wrote This is Our Life about someone very close to me and then realised it could actually be about quite a few people in my life. It recognises the mental and sometimes physical struggle of being a creative person but it also celebrates the forces that keep us going. When we play it with the band I feel so happy. We dance. We enter joyous abandon. We declare pride and wild love."

The single follows Winder-Lind's three-track EP The Spirit Is Carnal (2023) and her first poetry collection Röd Ska Jag Leva (2025), arriving in the wake of the breakout success of The New Eves' debut album, The New Eve Is Rising.

One of the most striking records of 2025, the album was hailed by Clash as "an unforgettable debut" while The Guardian, in their lead album review, wrote that "it feels exciting, as does their future." The record also appeared in end-of-year lists from Dork, Loud & Quiet, and Hard Of Hearing.

Across both her solo work and collaborations, Nina Winder-Lind's artistry is defined by her ability to channel the vivacity and intensity of life. While her work with The New Eves thrives on collective energy, her solo material feels more intimate and personal, yet no less bold or defiant.

More news from Nina Winder-Lind is coming soon.

Heka

heka (aka Francesca Brierley) is an experimental artist and producer whose intimate songwriting merges elements of folk, ambient and lo-fi electronics into hybrid compositions. With a background in visual art and creative computing, her practice is shaped by collage, layering acoustic and electronic textures to create music that moves between the personal and the abstract, the organic and the digital. Raised in the Italian countryside before moving to London, and moving between English and Italian, heka’s songwriting explores the ways voice carries personal history, place and emotion. She has shared stages with artists including John Maus, Sam Burton, bar italia, Black Country, New Road, Belle and Sebastian and The New Eves, and has recorded, toured and collaborated across projects including Drug Store Romeos, Gently Tender, Tapir!, Skydaddy, Naima Bock and Dana Gavanski. In 2025 she formed Dorothy with long-time collaborators Marco Pini (GG Skips, RIP Magic, Sorry) and Jude Woodhead (Saint Jude). Their debut EP Sea Songs was released via Angel Tapes, an imprint of New York label Fire Talk, and the project will make its live debut at Green Man Festival 2026. Her debut album pure music is also set for release in 2026, accompanied by a co-headline tour with friend and collaborator Nina Winder-Lind.
