Los Angeles “goblin metal” band fusing melodic death metal with humour, theatrics, and high-energy hooks.
If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow Nekrogoblikon below.
Nekrogoblikon hail from Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, forging their goblin-themed melodic death metal (or “goblin metal”) sound with equal parts humour and technical prowess. Formed in 2006, their self-produced debut album Goblin Island (2007) laid the foundation for their theatrical flair, while Stench (2011) brought wider attention—especially with the viral music video for “No One Survives,” introducing their mischievous mascot, John Goblikon. They followed with the self-released EP Power (2013), praised for its goblin-centric humour and awarded five stars by Kerrang! Magazine. Subsequent albums, like Heavy Meta (2015) and Welcome to Bonkers (2018), continued the blend of blistering riffs, keyboard flourishes and comedic storytelling.
On stage, Nekrogoblikon are a force of nature, delivering chaotic yet finely tuned performances that blur the line between theatre and metal mayhem. With their blend of technical musicianship, absurdist humour, and the ever-present John Goblikon, they’ve built a cult following around the world. Whether headlining their own shows, storming festival stages, or sharing bills with some of metal’s most notorious names, the band continue to push boundaries and delight fans with their unique take on heavy music.
