Since Neil Young co-founded the band known as Buffalo Springfield in the mid-1960s, he has gone on to enjoy a hugely successful career; he is now known almost as much for his environmental activism as for his music. Young was born in Toronto, Canada, before being raised in Winnipeg, where he developed a love of music and learned to play guitar. After his time with Buffalo Springfield, he also joined Crosby, Stills and Nash, but he is known by most as a solo artist.
For fans of all ages, seeing Neil Young in concert is a fantastic experience. His hits include “Harvest Moon”, “Old Man”, “Heart of Gold”, “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “The Needle and the Damage Done”, to name just a few. While he is typically recognised as favouring acoustic folk/country and electric rock styles, he has also been cited as an influence on the founding grunge artists, with some dubbing him “the Godfather of Grunge”.
Over the years, Young has won various awards and accolades. In 2011, he was presented with three Juno Awards (Artist of the Year; Alternative Album of the Year; and Allan Waters Humanitarian Award) as well as a Grammy for Best Rock Song (“Angry World”). He has twice been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: in 1995, for his solo work, and again in 1997 in recognition of his work with Buffalo Springfield.
Wherever he performs, Neil Young tickets are a must-have for anyone looking to watch a master craftsman creating live music at its best.
