London-based doom-trap and trap-metal artist blending industrial, metal and hip-hop influences into fiercely intense, genre-defying music.
Mimi Barks is a German-born doom trap artist whose genre-defying music fuses elements of trap, metal, industrial and harsh electronic sounds into an explosive and visceral sonic identity. Emerging from Berlin’s underground scene and now based in London, she has built a reputation as one of the most intriguing figures in modern heavy music by blending rapid-fire rap, screamed vocals and pounding, beat-driven beats into a style she and critics describe as both doom trap and trap-metal. Her approach is confrontational, raw and cathartic, often drawing on personal intensity and dark emotional themes.
Her recorded output includes the Enter the Void EP (2019), the Deadgirl mixtape (2022) and her debut full-length album This Is Doom Trap (2024), released via Silent Cult Recordings. This Is Doom Trap has been celebrated for its bold fusion of metal and trap elements — from crashing industrial beats and frenzied vocal work to moments of twisted melody and collaboration, including tracks featuring Raven Gray and Yeti Bones of Ho99o9 — establishing Mimi Barks as a distinctive voice in heavy alternative music.
