Born out of the wild alternative indulgencies of the nineties, punk rock cover supergroup Me First & The Gimme Gimmes were created with the single ambition to drive audiences all over the world totally wild. Having travelled the world and played just about every music genre ever invented, and a few that haven’t, they have become stuff of rock and roll legend and earned fans all over the globe. Now they are coming back to the UK and are ready to get you into a frenzy!
The San Franciscan superstars return to our shores this February to play a number of incredible dates including at O2 Academy Bristol, O2 Institute Birmingham and O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London. The illustrious members include drummer Dave Raun (Lagwagon), lead vocals from Spike Slawson (Swingin’ Utters, Re-Volts), Chris Shiftlett (Foo Fighters, No Use For A Name) playing lead guitar while Joey Cape (Lagwagon) plays rhythm and Fat Mike on bass (NOFX).
Taking inspiration for their name from a children’s book, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes blasted onto the scene in 1995 with their first release; the 7” vinyl single Denver brought out by Fat Wreck Chords and featured two John Denver covers.
They took they show to the road and have been met by eager fans all across the globe. Loving their interesting take on tracks plus the incredible costumes worn by the band members. They have released eight studio albums and continue to tear it up wherever they may go.
