Since his appearance on the British lovers-rock scene in the mid-‘80s, Maxi Priest has become not just a reggae icon but an international pop superstar. Impressively, Maxi’s breezy mix of dancehall, roots and pop R&B has struck a chord with mainstream pop audiences in both the U.K. and the U.S., making him one of only two U.K. acts to score a Billboard number-one hit--the sultry “Close to You.” THE BEST OF MAXI PRIEST is a useful career recap, focusing on the pop crossover efforts that have brought the singer widespread critical and commercial plaudits. From appealing cover material, like his bouncy roots-flavoured take on Cat Stevens’s “Wild World,” to uplifting anthems, such as the soaring “Watching the World Go By,” BEST OF is a satisfying roundup of one of the reggae world’s most accessible artists.

Catch him when he makes headline performances at Jazz Café in London for two night in December 2017.

Excitement is certainly building, so do not hang around and book your Maxi Priest fast as they will go. Gigantic enables you to make a gig ticket booking 24/7 using your smartphone, tablet or computer on the go or sat at home.

Maxi Priest is a reggae-fusion artist from England. He had massive success throughout the early and mid 1990's, and is probably best known for his 1990 single "Close to You", a number that ruled the airwaves throughout the summer and fall of 1990 which topped the US Billboard charts and broke the top 10 charts in Canada, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand and the Netherlands.

The second, “Set the Night to Music,” a duo with Roberta Flack, cam a year later, and then he scored another hit with fellow reggae star Shaggy with “That Girl” in 1996.
