Max Pope is a captivating South London singer-songwriter whose genre-blurring sound fuses indie-pop, funk, folk and soulful melodies. His debut album Counting Sheep (2022) earned praise from The Line of Best Fit, CLASH, BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 1. Since then, his music has steadily gained traction.
His latest single, “Borderline” (2025), marks a personal and sonic leap—funk-infused, dreamily woozy and jagged, it channels the energy of both a bright house party and a nostalgic late-night anthem. Rooted in his background at the Brit School and past collaborations with the likes of Loyle Carner, Tom Misch, Mahalia and Yussef Dayes, Max Pope crafts songs that feel both intimate and expansive, as if every note offers a hug and a pulse in equal measure.
