Madra Salach emerged from the city’s Northside indie scene, founding themselves through impromptu pub sessions and a shared affinity for the Irish traditional canon. Over time the group expanded into a six-piece whose original compositions blend mandolin, harmonium, drone textures and drums—crafting music that feels timeless yet unmistakably contemporary. Their debut single “Blue & Gold” marked their arrival, and key festival appearances such as Electric Picnic showcased their growing presence.
With their upcoming debut EP It’s a Hell of an Age, Madra Salach reflect on themes of youth, identity and the passage of time—in music that resonates like Irish folk lightened with post-rock ambition. Their evolving sound, heartfelt lyricism and magnetic live shows have earned them attention beyond Dublin, pointing to a very bright future for the band.
