The French born musician moved with her family to live in America whilst a young child, first to Brooklyn in New York and then later Southern California. Following the divorce of her parents she returned to France to live in Paris with her mother. As a teen she began performing as a street musician, particularly in the Latin Quarter of the City Of Light. By the age of sixteen she was travelling across Europe playing with The Lost Wandering Blues And Jazz Band.

Her debut album Dreamland was released in 1996 and contained both her original work plus covers of the likes of Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith and Fats Waller. Her other records include Careless Love which has sold over a million copies across the globe, Half The Perfect World, Bare Bones, Standing On The Rooftop and her latest release; Secular Hymns.
