Lucy is completely blind and living with a rare chromosome 16 duplication - despite these challenges, her natural musical ability has provided her with a unique way to communicate and connect with others. Lucy’s incredible talent was first recognised when world-renowned pianist Lang Lang and pop sensation Mika crowned her the ‘unofficial’ winner of a competition at just 13 years old, following her stunning performance of Debussy's Arabesque No. 1 in front of 2,000 people at the Royal Festival Hall.

Lucy's musical journey has been nothing short of remarkable. She was invited to perform at HRH King’s Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, where she played a flawless rendition of Bach’s Prelude in C to an audience of 18 million viewers. Despite her developmental challenges, including hypermobility and CVS, Lucy’s accomplishments have made her a beacon of inspiration. Through her piano playing, she continues to break barriers, showcasing that talent transcends all obstacles.

Truly extraordinary evening

We have loved everything we've seen at the Union Chapel. Its our favourite, intimate venue. And Lucy was no exception. In fact, she was the most remarkably artist we have heard there. Her age, her ability, her presence and her talent was stunning. And of course we were introduced to her versatility too, duetting and riffing with her mentor through Jazz and the blues! We expected her classical excellence but were blown away by her other musical tastes. The musicians who appeared with her were exceptional too and we enjoyed the evening immensely. Thank you Lucy!

Unforgettable performance!

Lucy the Pianist was without doubt nothing short of miraculous. Her performance was breathtaking and it was a true privilege to have witnessed it. Her obvious challenges she faces were dealt with respectfully by those assisting her. Daniel especially was wonderful, and seemed very kind, a fabulous teacher and friend to Lucy. Bravo!
