Stevie struts his stuff
It hit you with a massive bang, right in your face ! It was two and a half hours of rock 'n' roll mayhem . It moved seamlessly from one number to another. So many excellent musicians : the horn section were tremendous. The guitarists complemented and at times dominated Stevie but he remained in control. I loved the way his politics came out- he is more political than Springsteen. Singing 'Ain't gonna play Sun City' was fantastic: took me back - I bought that album : It was one of the may ways in which we helped to undermine apartheid.
I knew he was a great musician but with the E Street Band he tends to be over shadowed by Springsteen. Here his talent showed through - no it shouted itself out. A brilliant evening
