Watson received a guitar shortly after his sixteenth birthday and quickly became highly proficient after teaching himself through relentless practice. He began uploading live vids on to YouTube in 2010 and attracted a great deal of attention with his cover of Bombay Bicycle Club's song Swansea.

His channel continues to attract widespread attention through online videos with a channel that now boasts over 87,600 subscribers.

In 2012 Watson made his first record release with the EP entitled It’s Got Four Sad Songs On It BTW

I set the songs on that EP out like a story, he explains. "'What About Today' was about quite a rubbish situation where I was being used, and that was the tale of the end of a relationship; 'Windows' was looking back after the relationship ended; 'Bones' is about meeting someone new; and 'Nothing' is about being happy with that person.” - Lewis Watson

The successful release would be followed by subsequent EPs Another Four Sad Songs, The Wild, Four More Songs an Some Songs With Some Friends. His debut album This Morning was released in 2014.
