Kent punksters Lady Bird announce debut album ‘WE’ set to arrive February 25th 2022 via Alcopop! Records (Pulled Apart By Horses, The Subways, Tigercub) alongside their March 2022 tour (tickets on sale Friday 15th at 10am), and share gripping second cut ‘Infants’, primed for release October 13th.

Partnering with the acclaimed indie label for their first full-length record, the boisterous trio’s latest single showcases the breakneck punk snarl of guitarist Alex Deadman on lead vocals, and follows thrilling lead track ‘Factory Fool’ which firmly laid down a marker ahead of the band’s raucous UK live run last month.

With their upcoming LP embodying the essence of the three individuals that make up the group, ‘Infants’ once more spotlights their collective creativity and spark, heralding a celebration of survival and life, and the emotions induced during a tumultuous album recording process that strengthened their brotherhood and friendship to no end.

Detailing their newest effort, Deadman revealed: “It’s a story of Don’s (Bird - frontman) trials and escapades in primary education, between him and his accomplished guideline snapper who also appears in the story of Reprisal. As adults they bump into one another and share a drink before getting arrested under the unruly behaviour of the [character]…what ever happened to having a nice drink with an old friend aye!?”

Lady Bird’s ‘Infants’ is out October 13th via Alcopop! Records and will be available across all digital platforms.

Artist Bio

Formed in the archetypal english town of Tunbridge Wells, Lady Bird’s shared desire to spread lofty ideas has led to them creating some of the most exciting music to come out of anywhere in the country. While Punk can sometimes be seen as a reductive term, Lady Bird hark back to its deeper meaning, exemplifying an attitude of rebellion, freedom and bold ideas. Lady Bird’s sound manages to be both literary and ultra-aggressive. Joe and Alex lay down a frame work of stripped back rock, heavy and pulverising, but never losing its sense of melody. Over this Don plays the role of narrator, spinning suburban yarns as metaphors for the trials of 21st century life and the desire for personal and spiritual growth. His distinctively English tones are reminiscent of Mike Skinner - telling tales of a Kentish Wetherspoons rather than London clubs - all the while a stripped down Black Flag thrashing away behind. The boys’ shared musical influences range from The Blockheads to Thelonius Monk. Their sound is also buoyed by a deeper philosophical bent, something Joe puts down to their closeness as a unit. “Since playing together we’ve become central pillars in each other’s lives and because of that there’s all sorts of deeper discussions and musings that take place which influence what the creative output is". 'BRAINWASH MACHINE SETTING' EP is set for release June 2020, via the bands own record label Purple Stains, in conjunction with JägerMusik.
