About Knocked Loose

Knocked Loose are a Louisville, Kentucky hardcore band known for fusing metallic hardcore, metalcore, and chaotic extreme music with crushing breakdowns, raw emotion, and explosive live performances.  Since forming in 2013, the band, fronted by Bryan Garris, has become one of the most influential modern hardcore acts through releases like Laugh Tracks, A Different Shade of Blue, A Tear in the Fabric of Life, and 2024’s You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To.

Their latest album pushed the band further into experimental territory while maintaining the aggression that defines their sound, with tracks like “Blinding Faith,” “Don’t Reach for Me,” and “Suffocate” helping launch them into mainstream visibility. In late 2024, Knocked Loose performed “Suffocate” with Poppy on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in a viral appearance that brought hardcore chaos;  blast beats, pig squeals, moshing, and pyro included, to national television.

The band also earned its first-ever Grammy nomination at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance for “Suffocate,” competing alongside artists like Metallica, Gojira, and Spiritbox, and this nomination marked a major breakthrough moment for modern hardcore music.

Following the album’s success, Knocked Loose continued their rapid rise with major festival appearances and high-profile support slots, including joining Metallica and Gojira on dates of Metallica’s world tour, further cementing their status as one of heavy music’s fastest-growing and most boundary-pushing bands.
