Formed in Edinburgh but recently relocating to Glasgow, Insider Trading have garnered a reputation as one of Scotland’s best upcoming live acts. They have taken their unique brand of post-rock-with-choruses across the country, playing to a core of dedicated fans alongside the very best of the contemporary UK underground.

Initially breaking through with the emo-tinged ‘Spice Girl’ which builds through intricate melodic breaks to a cacophonic conclusion, punctuated with spoken word lyricism reminiscent of 90s Scottish icons Arab Strap. Following that was their 2025 EP ‘From Leith to New York’, which was released during the band’s one year hiatus from live shows.

The hiatus ended in January 2026, returning to the scene with a sold-out show at London’s Old Blue Last and a tour across the North of England. Now, while looking forward to another England and Wales tour, multiple headline shows in Scotland, and their first forays into the international festival circuit, the band are working on a new series of material. Their new work builds on the post-rock textures of L2NY with a keener focus on literary lyricism and unforgettable hooks. ‘Porcelain’ is the first single off their upcoming EP which will be released in October 2026.
