Ian Hunter & The Rant Band, ULU Live at Student Central, London - 28th June 2017
A genuine rock'n'roll 78, like your mother used to play, Ian Hunter celebrated his birthday a couple of weeks but rocked the joint like a man of 45, 33 or even maybe 16. Time has done nothing but season Ian Hunter over the years. Still every bit as good as ever he was and a fantastic band. It seems cruel to single out band members but Mark Bosch on lead guitar and drummer Steve Holley (the latter now with Hunter for 30 years) are just perfect foils to Hunter's great compositions. The night whizzed by, memories came flooding back and yet the new Fingers Crossed album is easily a contender for best work Hunter has ever achieved. I love Ian Hunter. He IS rock'n'roll to me.

Ian Hunter & The Rant Band, Hangar34, Liverpool - 20th June 2017
As a regular attender at ian hunter tours for decades I am never disappointed by the bands performances. Last night the guys gave 100% on a very hot night. Dripping with sweat they completed the entire setlist and an encore. Playing the old stuff and songs from the new album. The regular rant members were fantastic as well as ian. An added bonus was the Good support band too. Nice to see young musicians performing a few song. Well attended show. Club staff were nice and friendly and helpful.
Was a bit confused when I received my tickets through the post as it showed the start time as being at midnight. Was able to confirm correct time online though. Brilliant time.

Ian was in Great voice and the Rant Band are absolutely phenomenal musicians , They had the place rocking.
Only negatives were the heat . I realise we are in the middle of a heatwave but the venue should have some A/C or fan blowers as it was stifling. I am sure the band were suffering more than any one.
