"Better every time I see them play"

Honeyblood, The Haunt, Brighton - 3rd May 2017

I've seen Honeyblood a few times, and they get better each time I see them play.

They have always been an exciting live band, but they have grown into a much more assured band without losing their raw enthusiasm. Both Stina and Cat love playing live, which comes across in their set.

Great songs, great attitude and when the audience gets it and gets involved, it's reminds you why live music is so good.

Honeyblood, KOKO, London - 16th June 2017

This was a great gig, the band was up for it, the audience was up for it and fantastic night out. Koko was a great venue! I loved every second, even the support bands were pretty good too...

Honeyblood, KOKO, London - 16th June 2017

This was Honeyblood's largest venue headline date of their career. Having seen them twice previously in 300 (approx) capacity venues (Bullingdon Club, Oxford with PINS as support) & The Haunt, Brighton, with the excellent Estrons from Cardill supporting, as they did last night) I knew how much Stine & Cat were excited about playing the historic Koko Club in Camden.
From opening number to 'Babes Never Die' encore I was smiling & cheering them on.
The packed crowd loved it also & the ladies were as charming as ever after on the merch stand.
I hope this summer is a HONEYBLOOD one.............female guitar & drum heroes.
Catch 'em if you can people

Honeyblood, KOKO, London - 16th June 2017

Great show at one of the best little venues in town. The first band - I think they were called sorry - sounded good but perhaps lacked a little rock star confidence. Something that could come with time.

Estrons were up next, and shame on me this was the first ive heard of them. They ticked all the boxes. Fast loud charismatic energetic full throttle fun. I liked everything about this band the music the look the attitude the works. If i could find a cd of there music my life would be complete.

Ive seen a lot of very successful bands that would have looked very average following the Estrons but luckily Honeyblood have got that special magic, they wouldnt be upstaged. Pulled off one of the best shows ive seen for time, and i am quite old. These girls deserve to be the next 'big thing'. I feel privileged to have been there last night and they genuinely seemed as excIted to be there as the rest of us were. Loved it!

It was brilliant! And how long before I'm required to leave feedback and a review when I buy a Mars Bar from the corner shop?

The two-piece Glasgow based band may be small in number but mighty in talent, uniting drummer Cat Myers with guitarist Stina Marie Claire Tweedale who both share vocals. The lofi band have quickly emerged as a force to be reckoned with playing fantastic gigs around the world and benefitting from prominent airplay. Honeyblood take their name from a recipe for fake blood used by Tweedale for a Halloween gig that she gargled and spat upon her attending audience.

Honeyblood tickets can be yours through Gigantic right now! Book to see them play headline sets at Bristol Thekla, The Bodega in Nottingham and Gorilla at Manchester during December 2017.

Originally, the band’s line-up included Edinburgh girl Tweedale and drummer Shona McVicar from Cumbernauld who intended to recruit additional members but quickly began gigging after they formed in 2012 and realised that they didn’t need anyone else. They released their demo tape entitled Thrift Shop the same year.

The duo’s charisma and excellent song writing was apparent from the outset and they attracted the interest of FatCat Records by their second gig and were soon signed to the label.

They began work on their debut album in Connecticut in the United States during November of 2013 to work with producer Peter Katis, taking only ten days to complete the recording. Their eponymously titled debut album was released the following year. A year that also saw the departure of McVicar to be quickly replaced by Myers.

Since the line-up change the band have continued to progress, benefitting from prominent supporting the likes of Deap Vally, Courtney Barnett and Foo Fighters.

As sugar-rush rackets go, Honeyblood deliver a persuasive one.” - The Guardian
