Melbourne trio crafting lo-fi, emotionally charged post-punk that shimmers with nostalgic beauty and modern introspection.
HighSchool are a Melbourne-based trio whose lo-fi blend of post-punk, dream-pop and new wave captures both raw emotion and nostalgic atmosphere. Formed by siblings Rory Trobbiani (vocals, songwriting) and Lilli Trobbiani (keys), along with bassist Luke Scott, the band channel introspection through shimmering guitars, analogue textures and understated melodies. Their sound evokes the hazy melancholy of 1980s indie while remaining distinctly modern — intimate yet cinematic, detached yet deeply heartfelt.
After turning heads with their breakout single Frosting, HighSchool signed to UK indie label Dalliance Records and released their debut EP Forever at Last, earning global acclaim from tastemakers and critics alike. The record’s gauzy production and emotional candour introduced a band unafraid to explore longing, loss and youth’s fleeting moments through a lens of dreamy distortion. Now a growing fixture on the international scene, HighSchool continue to expand their sonic world with a rare mix of sincerity and cool detachment — the sound of emotion refracted through reverb and memory.
