Pioneers of the space rock movement; Hawkwind draw on psyche, prog rock and heavy metal and are best known for the song "Silver Machine".
The band members currently include Dave Brock (vocals, guitars) Richard Chadwick (drums), Magnus Martin (guitars, vocals), Thighpaulsandra (keys) and Doug MacKinnon (bass).
Over the past 55 years, they have released thirty-five studio albums, including the latest title The Future Never Waits (2023).

I have seen Hawkwind numerous times before and the set they played would certainly place it in the top 3 Hawkwind concerts I have seen. A pleasant surprise bearing in mind the time in their career and number of original members who remain. Positive experience of the Manchester Academy too, with the bar appearing to be aligned with the next door Manchester University Students Union

These guys are not slowing down in any way! If you don't want to read a setlist, stop now! BTW the new album is definitely worth getting. Levitation; You better believe it; Psychedelic Warlords (disappear); You know you're only dreaming; Utopia; Rama (the prophecy); The Beginning; Spirit of the Age; Assault & Battery (Golden Void); Right to Decide; Brainstorm; Silver Machine. Rock City has different zones, so you can choose your live experience. The sound was clear, and the bass came through strongly. The fans are always great; everybody left happy. What more could you want?
