GURT

Started with 4 lads wanting to make some bloody awful noise, and that they did. Made up of Growth, Jbob, Simo and Iron Fist, sharing a love of bands like EyeHateGod, Weedeater, Down, Crowbar, Iron Monkey and all things sludgy, GURT have been responsible for sore necks in and around London since 2010 and take no greater pleasure than hearing new fans claim they "don't usually like metal" at the end of a gig.

Some say their wide appeal is no surprise, given the diverse mix of influences and experiences they pull together from previous bands. GURT take the blues and groove of 70s rock and drags it backwards through the swamps of Louisiana. The drums are thunderous, the vocals demonic, the guitars down-tuned, down-tempo and down-right sexy. This is not doom, this is not sludge - THIS IS GURT.

FFO: Dopefight, Sedulus, Iron Witch, The Bendal Interlude, Dead Existence, ENOS, Slabdragger, Blackstorm, Ishmael, and many more from the Inner Sludge Circle.

THE BEAR AROUND YOUR NECK

A psychedelic grunge garage rock two-piece hailing from Manchester, The Bear Around Your Neck deal in the surreal, the ethereal, the pulsating and, on occasion,  the outright demonic. Heavy guitar picking and fuzz riffs come drenched in melodic vocals, carried along on tessellating drums that never quite let you settle.

Fronted by Nathaniel Scott on guitar/vocals and Jay Temple on drums, this is two people making a noise that sounds like a lot more than two people should be able to.

For fans of Satan.

KATHY

Technical groove metal out of Lincoln, KATHY hit like a band twice their size - precision riffing, pummelling grooves and the kind of tightness that only comes from a band who've clearly spent more time in the practice room than the pub. Now back to full strength with a fresh new bassist, bouncing off their killer support slot with the mighty Swamp Coffin, KATHY are locked in and ready to leave necks aching alongside the sludge lot on the bill.

Where GURT drag you through the swamp and Bear pull you into the fuzz, KATHY come at you head-on - technical, relentless, and built for the pit.
