Indie rock band Grouplove produce pure sun kissed pop songs that are true bliss. The band features drummer Ryan Rabin, guitarists Christian Zucconi and Andrew Wessen who also provide vocals, Hannah Hooper on keys also providing vocals as does Sean Gadd who plays bass.
Previous to the band all members were friends having met during an art residency on the Greek isle of Crete. During their time spent together the group of friends wrote music together and vowed to meet again once they returned to the states.
Meeting up in Los Angeles, they recorded the songs they had written under the Mediterranean sun in Rabin’s studio and decided to formally become a band. They toured with The Joy Formidable and were soon touted by Nylon Magazine as one of the top ten Best New Bands In 2010. They also released an eponymously titled debut EP the same year.
Their first album was released in 2011 and was titled Never Trust A Happy Song and contained the singles Tongue Tied, Lovely Cup and Itchin On A Photograph.
Their second album came out in 2013 under the title Spreading Rumours and promoted the record with an 18 show US tour.
"We never could have dreamt this up but at the same time we're not at all surprised - GROUPLOVE is meant to be. Our story a testament to fate, and our music is something we are ready to share.
" - Christian Zucconi
