Gorillaz are the world’s most successful virtual band, created in 1998 by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. Fronted by animated members 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs, the band broke boundaries with their self-titled debut (2001), which included hits like “Clint Eastwood” and “19-2000”. Their genre-blurring mix of hip-hop, dub, electronica and indie rock earned them a global following, with Demon Days (2005) cementing their place in music history thanks to anthems such as “Feel Good Inc.” and “DARE”. Always imaginative, they’ve continued to redefine how bands can exist, blending music, art and technology into one ambitious vision.

Across their career, Gorillaz have released eight studio albums, including Plastic Beach (2010), Humanz (2017), Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez (2020) and Cracker Island (2023), collaborating with a staggering list of icons from De La Soul, Lou Reed and Bobby Womack to Little Simz, Tame Impala and Thundercat. On stage, their live shows combine Albarn’s band with stunning visuals and guest appearances, headlining major festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella and Primavera Sound.
