GA-20 + True Strays Live at The Old Brewery Store, Faversham, Saturday 24th October 2026
Since 2018, GA-20 have been at the forefront of a traditional Blues revival. Guitarists Matt Stubbs and Cody Nilsen and drummer Josh Kiggans work at the crossroads where traditional Blues, Country and Rock 'n' Roll meet. "We make records that we would want to listen to," says Stubbs. "It's our take on the song-based traditional electric Blues we love."
The trio draw inspiration from the giants: Otis Rush, J.B. Lenoir, Howlin' Wolf, Junior Wells, Hound Dog Taylor, Earl Hooker and Johnny 'Guitar' Watson. They bring that spirit forward with what feels like reckless abandon. Vintage instruments. Vintage amps. Recorded live off the floor in a single room. That timeless immediacy has earned GA-20 three #1 Billboard Blues chart toppers, four Boston Music Awards for Best Blues Act, and multiple wins and nominations at the Blues Music Awards, Blues Blast Awards and New England Blues Awards. They arrive in Kent fresh from Blues Now, their new collaborative album with the legendary Charlie Musselwhite.
As Medium.com put it: "This is the kind of music that travels through time… dirty and raw, timeless and modern."
Special guests: True Strays (duo)
Opening the night are True Strays, lifelong friends James Cameron and Joseph James from Bristol. Their sound is a cathartic mix of alt-Americana, blues rock and neo-psychedelia, drawing on Neil Young, Muddy Waters and Fleetwood Mac as well as modern retro acts like Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr and The Black Keys. The pair are a roofer and a primary school teacher by day. They've built a loyal grassroots following with soul-drenched live shows and a DIY ethos, toured across Europe and Scandinavia, and shared stages with Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. They've also played Joe Bonamassa's Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea cruise and more than 100 festival sets, including Glastonbury, Black Deer, The Long Road, Green Man, Boomtown and Shambala. They have been nominated twice for Emerging Act of the Year at the UK Blues Awards and are fast becoming one of the UK's most exciting alt-roots acts. Tonight they play a stripped-back duo set.
The Old Brewery Store is the room you want to see these bands in: close, loud and built for nights like this. Two acts, one unmissable night of live blues in Kent. Expect this one to sell out well in advance.
