About EZHEL

Ezhel is a Turkish rapper, singer, and songwriter who has earned a reputation as one of the most influential figures in Turkish hip-hop. Born in 1982 in Istanbul, Ezhel (real name: Sercan İpekçioğlu) initially began his musical career in the underground rap scene of Turkey, but he quickly rose to prominence due to his distinct blend of hip-hop, reggae, and Turkish musical influences.

His breakthrough came in 2009 with the release of his debut album Yeraltı Edebiyatı (Underground Literature), which was critically acclaimed for its raw, poetic lyrics and unique production style. Ezhel’s lyrical themes often touch on personal struggles, social issues, and the complexity of life in Istanbul, resonating deeply with his fans. His style has earned comparisons to global rap icons, while his use of Turkish lyrics has set him apart as a defining figure in the Turkish rap scene.
