Ezhel, born Sercan İpekçioğlu in Ankara, is one of the most influential voices in the rap scenes of both Turkey and Germany. Now based in Berlin, he grew up surrounded by a wide range of musical influences, from reggae and hip-hop to Anatolian rock, shaping a sound that feels both rooted and forward-thinking. Beginning with underground rap battles and freestyling as a teenager, Ezhel quickly developed a reputation for authenticity, emotion and fearless storytelling.
His breakthrough debut album Müptezhel (2017) became a cultural phenomenon, blending rap, trap and reggae elements while addressing urban life, social pressures and the struggles of youth. Tracks such as “Şehrimin Tadı” and “Geceler” cemented his status as a defining voice for a generation. Known for his raw lyricism and boundary-pushing approach, Ezhel has collaborated with artists including Aitch, Luciano, Gentleman and Ufo361, expanding his reach internationally. With music that balances personal truth and social commentary, Ezhel remains a pioneering force in modern global hip-hop.
