Rockin' Roots Events and EAT Music present KRISSY MATTHEWS – GUITARMANIA 2027
Sunday 16th May 2027 | The Granville, Ramsgate, Kent
Doors 5:45pm | Show 6:45pm
GUITARMANIA is a touring guitar summit. It doesn't run like a normal package tour, with a headliner and support acts each playing their own set. Instead, the seven guitarists share the stage more and more as the night goes on.
Each guitarist starts with their own music and their own sound. As the evening goes on, they team up in different combinations, ending with full-band jams that are different every night. This isn't a contest over who can play the fastest, loudest or longest solo. Very different players are paired up, and the lines between their styles disappear as the night builds.
THE HOST – KRISSY MATTHEWS
Krissy Matthews is a British-Norwegian guitarist with more than 20 years on stage. He played with John Mayall at twelve and caught B.B. King's attention at fifteen. At sixteen, he was the last guest musician to share a stage with the late Jeff Healey. He's a permanent member of the Hamburg Blues Band. He came up with GUITARMANIA after his 2024 album Krissy Matthews And Friends: 24 tracks with around 80 guest musicians, including Chris Farlowe, Arthur Brown and Inga Rumpf. The first GUITARMANIA tour ran in 2025.
THE GUITARISTS
🎸 ERIC GALES (USA): One of the most distinctive voices in blues-rock today. He mixes blues with rock, funk and soul, with huge technique and fiercely expressive playing.
🎸 ERIC STECKEL (USA): Brings a heavier edge, on the line between blues-rock and hard rock.
🎸 RUSSELL MARSDEN (UK): Guitarist with British rock band Band of Skulls, returning to GUITARMANIA.
🎸 ÓSKAR LOGI (Iceland): Frontman of Icelandic rockers The Vintage Caravan, returning to GUITARMANIA.
🎸 PHILIPP "BLUEDÖG" GERBER (Switzerland): Swiss guitarist and producer, returning to GUITARMANIA.
🎸 RORY EVANS (UK): British guitarist joining the 2027 line-up.
Bass player Slawek Semeniuk and drummer Gerry Reynders complete the band.
Contemporary American blues-rock, British alternative rock, psychedelia, vintage rock, hard rock and classic blues all on one bill. This is a rare chance to see this line-up together on the Kent coast.
