Emma Louise Featuring The Western Quay

Live at Three Tanners Bank

Emma is a southern gal who found her home in the North East almost 10years ago.
Emma grew up performing a wide range of music from jazz and swing to pop and musicals and has a passion for music that evokes a feeling in the listener and creates a shared moment in the crowd. The North East with its thriving music scene has provided the perfect foundation for musical exploration. Like all good things, this exploration of the North East started at a few pubs and has progressed into a mixed genre with a folky, poppy , soulful feel, bringing a soft approach to music that immediately feels familiar and makes you want to hum, sing and bop along.
Emma’s warm and expressive style brings a comforting and relatable tone to her songs and will make you feel like her music was made for you.

Western Quay is a North East-based song writing collective featuring Andy Mather, Mark Appleby and Michael Mather.

Drawing on a broad range of musical influences, the trio brings together elements ofcontemporary popular, jazz, rock, country and folk music, creating songs that reflect both their varied musical interests and their experience of life in the North East of England.

At the heart of Western Quay is a shared passion for song writing and storytelling. Their music moves comfortably between different styles, combining traditional influences with a contemporary approach to melody, arrangement and production.

The North East provides an important backdrop to their work, influencing not only the character and atmosphere of their songs but also the stories and experiences that inspire them. From personal and family stories to observations of people, places and everyday life, Western Quay aims to create music with a strong sense of identity and emotional connection.

Western Quay are not restricted to one genre, instead drawing freely from their wide range of musical influences to create songs that can be melodic, reflective, roots-inspired and contemporary. Each songwriter brings their own musical perspective to the group, resulting in a diverse and evolving body of work.

For Western Quay, the common thread is simple: good songs, strong melodies and stories worth telling.
