Elias Rønnenfelt is a Danish singer-songwriter, composer and poet whose career spans leading the seminal post-punk band Iceage and now forging his own solo path with introspective, genre-defying work. Hailing from Copenhagen, he first came to prominence in his late teens via Iceage’s raw, ferocious output — but his solo efforts reveal a more exploratory side: one where vulnerability meets art-rock ambition.
His debut solo album Heavy Glory (2024) was recorded in Copenhagen and layered with guitar, strings and off-kilter rhythms to articulate themes of love, loss and identity. Following its launch, Rønnenfelt announced his second solo record Speak Daggers (2025), which delves into punk, dub and literary allusion — taking inspiration from Shakespeare and calling in reggae legends such as The Congos. Through his solo project, he continues to shift expectations, uniting sharp lyricism, restless creativity and a fearlessness to evolve.
