Dylan Moran is an Irish comedian, writer, and actor renowned for his sharp observational humour, surreal wit, and uniquely poetic take on life. Born in 1967, he gained early recognition in the UK comedy circuit, winning the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1996, making him one of the youngest recipients of the prize. His stand-up blends dark cynicism, whimsical musings, and biting social commentary, making him one of the most distinctive voices in modern comedy.
Beyond stand-up, Moran is best known for creating and starring in the cult British sitcom Black Books (2000–2004), where he played the misanthropic bookshop owner Bernard Black. He has also appeared in films such as Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Run Fatboy Run (2007). A regular on the international comedy circuit, he has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, Australia, and North America, with acclaimed specials like Monster, Like, Totally, and Off the Hook. With his signature blend of intellect, absurdity, and Irish charm, Moran continues to be one of comedy’s most beloved performers.
