DUG is an Irish-American folk duo formed in late 2023 by Dublin-born songwriter Lorkin O’Reilly and California native Jonny Pickett. After a decade in Upstate New York, O’Reilly returned to Dublin in 2022 to start a new musical chapter. Their music blends American old-time and Irish folk traditions, creating a transatlantic sound that reflects both their heritages.
In their first year, DUG released two singles, "Jubilee" and "Big Sundown," toured across the USA and Ireland, and were shortlisted for Grammy nominations in two categories. They've opened for artists like Iron & Wine, The Scratch, and Gruff Rhys. Their debut album, Have At It, is set for release in 2025, with a UK tour planned for November.
