Dream Nails are a London-based punk band known for their energetic blend of riot grrrl, queercore, and pop-punk influences. Formed in 2015 by feminist activists Janey Starling and Anya Pearson, the band quickly became known for their politically charged music and unapologetic DIY ethos. Their debut EP, DIY, released in 2016, was accompanied by a handmade zine and garnered attention from publications like Dazed & Confused. The band's self-titled debut album, released in 2020, showcased their evolution and commitment to their feminist and queer activism through music.
In 2023, Dream Nails released their second studio album, Doom Loop, marking the debut of new vocalist Ishmael Kirby. The album received critical acclaim, with Clash Magazine describing it as "outspoken yet vulnerable, confronting yet honest, ferocious yet calm," highlighting the band's ability to blend political rage with contagious pop-punk joy. Following Kirby's departure in early 2024, the band continued to evolve, announcing their upcoming third album, You Wish, set to release in 2026.
