Antwerp’s genre-defying art-rock pioneers, celebrated for their eclectic sound, fearless innovation and electrifying live presence.
If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow dEUS below.
dEUS (styled with that distinctive lowercase “d”) are a trailblazing experimental-indie rock band from Antwerp, Belgium. Formed in 1991 initially as a covers outfit, they quickly began forging their own path with bold influences ranging from folk and punk to jazz and prog-rock. The sole constants throughout their colourful history are frontman Tom Barman (vocals, guitars) and Klaas Janzoons (keyboards, violin); they’re now joined by Stéphane Misseghers (drums), Alan Gevaert (bass) and Simen Folstad Nilsen (guitar, backing vocals).
They made their mark with a series of inventive, boundary-pushing albums—starting with Worst Case Scenario (1994), followed by In a Bar, Under the Sea (1996) and The Ideal Crash (1999), building a devoted cult following. After a hiatus, they returned with Pocket Revolution (2005), later albums like Keep You Close (2011) and Following Sea (2012), and most recently the lauded How to Replace It (2023)—their first in over a decade. Today, they remain an electrifying live act, headlining homegrown festivals and touring Europe with a set that weaves deep catalogue favourites with dynamic new sounds.
