Originally recorded in 1967 as a rocksteady track at Studio One, the song was re-recorded in 1994 with a dancehall-infused production, earning international success and securing Penn’s place as a reggae legend.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Penn started her musical career in the 1960s, working with renowned producers such as Coxsone Dodd and Duke Reid. After an extended hiatus from the industry, she made a remarkable comeback in the early ‘90s when her reworked version of "You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)" topped charts worldwide and became a staple of reggae and dancehall culture.
