Dave emerged from Brixton and Streatham in South London, using rap, melody and piano to articulate personal stories, social critique and emotional detail. Born David Orobosa Michael Omoregie (5 June 1998), he began writing lyrics in his early teens and gradually refined a voice that balances vulnerability with razor-sharp insight.
His debut EP Six Paths (2016) introduced his expressive style, and Psychodrama (2019) delivered a defining moment - weaving narrative, conflict and catharsis into a deeply felt whole that won the Mercury Prize and earned wide acclaim. He followed with We’re All Alone in This Together (2021), further exploring love, pressure and identity against a lush, contemporary backdrop. Alongside his music, he has acted (notably in Top Boy) and continues to use his platform to address issues of race, inequality and community. On stage and in studio, he invites listeners into complex inner worlds - seeking connection and truth through sound.
