Cro-Mags, originating from New York City's hardcore punk scene in the early 1980s, are renowned pioneers of crossover thrash and hardcore punk. Founded by Harley Flanagan, they fused aggressive punk energy with metal's heaviness, setting a template for future bands.
Their debut album, The Age of Quarrel (1986), remains a seminal work, influencing countless artists across genres. Infusing socio-political themes with raw intensity, their music embodies the urban grit of NYC. Despite lineup changes and internal conflicts, Cro-Mags endure as icons of underground music, maintaining a loyal following and continuing to inspire generations with their uncompromising sound and rebellious spirit.
