Colin Hay is a Scottish-born, Australian-raised musician best known as the lead vocalist and sole continuous member of the iconic band Men at Work. The band achieved international success with hits like “Down Under” and “Who Can It Be Now?” After the band's disbandment in 1985, Hay embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album Looking for Jack in 1987. He continued to build his solo discography with albums such as Wayfaring Sons (1990), Peaks & Valleys (1992), Topanga (1994), and Transcendental Highway (1998).
In the 2000s, Hay's solo work gained renewed attention, with albums like Man @ Work (2003), a reimagined collection of his Men at Work classics, and American Sunshine (2009), which blended folk-pop with introspective lyrics. His 2017 album Fierce Mercy and 2021's I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself showcased his continued evolution as an artist. In 2025, Hay released Man @ Work Volume 2, further exploring his musical legacy.
