Coilguns came up through the DIY hardcore scene and have since forged their own blend of punk and ecstatic noise-rock. Hailing from La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland, the band have built a fierce reputation for live shows that are raw, uncompromising and gloriously euphoric — the kind of gigs played squarely for the dancing freaks and crowd-surfing weirdos down the front.
Their story is tightly bound to guitarist Jona Nido’s own label, Humus Records, which has grown into a thriving hub for independent Swiss music across every sonic horizon. Their early albums were entirely self-produced, but for their fourth record, Odd Love (2024), the band decamped to the remote Ocean Sounds studio in Norway to track with producer Scott Evans, before handing the mix to Grammy-nominated Tom Dalgety. A real turning point in their career, it opened the door to an extensive run of international touring that has taken their incendiary live set far beyond home.
