About Chinese American Bear

Chinese American Bear is an experimental indie pop duo based in Seattle, Washington. Comprised of Anne Tong and Bryce Barsten, the band blends elements of rock, mando-pop, and experimental sounds, creating a unique and genre-defying style. They first caught attention with their debut release, Oatmilk (2020), which showcased their playful approach to music, mixing humour and personal experiences with innovative production. Their infectious energy and DIY ethos quickly made them a standout act in Seattle's local scene.

Following Oatmilk, the duo continued to evolve their sound with the release of "WAH!!!" (2022), a limited edition 12" vinyl that solidified their growing reputation. Known for their genre-blending approach, Chinese American Bear incorporates elements from mando-pop, rock, and experimental music, with lyrics often reflecting a lighthearted and humorous perspective.
